Snoring you've been told about, an inhaler that isn't holding, a cough that outlasted your last trip — get it properly checked without switching languages. Full consultation in English, 18–28 minutes from Polanco by car.
Many of Dr. Lara's English-speaking patients live or work in Polanco: executives relocated to Mexico City, diplomatic families, and long-term expats. The most common reasons they book a first visit are suspected sleep apnea (loud snoring plus daytime fatigue), adult asthma that behaves differently at 2,240 m of altitude, and lung questions carried over from a doctor abroad. All of it can be handled in English — including reading spirometry, CT scans and sleep studies issued in the US, Canada or Europe.
This page covers the practical side of coming from Polanco. For the city-wide guide for visitors and expats, see the English-speaking pulmonologist hub.
Take Paseo de la Reforma west, join Anillo Periférico southbound and exit toward Insurgentes Sur. About 18–28 minutes in regular traffic; plan 25–40 at rush hour. Hospital Santa Coleta has indoor parking at Saturnino Herrán 59.
Set the destination to "Hospital Santa Coleta, Saturnino Herrán 59". A ride from Polanco usually runs $130–$220 MXN outside peak hours — often easier than driving if you're near Masaryk.
Metrobús Line 7 south along Reforma, then transfer to Line 1 on Insurgentes and get off at Olivo or San Antonio. Total 35–50 minutes. Doable, but rideshare is faster door to door.
Follow-ups, medication adjustments and reviewing test results often work well by video. Teleconsultation is quoted via WhatsApp.
Office hours: Monday–Friday, 4–9 pm — evening slots after 7 pm usually mean lighter traffic on Periférico. Full directions and map on the location page.
Polanco sits outside the home-delivery radius for the sleep study (home service covers addresses within about 7 km of the office). That doesn't complicate things much: with the in-office package — consultation plus respiratory polygraphy for $4,500 MXN — you're evaluated at the office, take the small recorder home, sleep with it in your own bed, and return it the next day. Results are explained to you in English at the follow-up. Details on the sleep apnea test page.
Clinical history, chest exam, oximetry and a written plan you actually understand. Bring your medication list and any prior studies — digital copies by WhatsApp beforehand are welcome.
When indicated, spirometry and FeNO are done at the same office — no referral to an external lab across the city.
Studies from your doctor in the US, Canada or Europe are read directly, and a bilingual summary can be prepared for continuity of care back home.
Itemized electronic invoice (CFDI) and detailed prescription for reimbursement claims with international insurers.
