Frequent questions

What people ask most before booking

What does the first consultation include?
A focused medical history, a complete respiratory exam, oximetry, review of any prior studies you bring, an integrated diagnosis and a written treatment plan. If you need additional studies (spirometry, FeNO, CT scan, respiratory polygraphy), I'll explain why they're ordered and in what order. You leave the consultation with clarity, not more doubts.
Are studies performed in the same office?
Yes. In the same office we perform:
  • Simple spirometry: included in the consultation when it's relevant to your condition.
  • FeNO (exhaled nitric oxide): additional cost.
We also offer:
  • Home respiratory polygraphy for sleep apnea evaluation.
  • Scheduled hospital procedures: thoracentesis and pleural catheter placement.
Imaging studies (X-ray and CT scan) are performed at the Hospital Santa Coleta units.
How long does the consultation last?
The first consultation lasts between 40 and 60 minutes, deliberately long to take a complete medical history and not rush the diagnosis. Follow-up consultations last approximately 30 minutes.
What is the cost of the consultation?
The first consultation has a special online price of $1,300 (regular price $1,800). It's the same complete evaluation; just mention when you message us that you found us online.

The follow-up consultation (continued care for the same condition) costs $1,500.

What should I bring to my first consultation?
Ideally: prior studies (X-rays, CT scans, spirometry, lab work), a list of the medications you take (including inhalers and doses) and, if you have it, a summary from the doctor who referred you. If you don't have prior studies, that's no problem: we evaluate you from scratch.
Do you see children?
No. The consultation is exclusively for adults (18 and older). For pediatric pulmonology we can refer you to trusted colleagues via WhatsApp.

About the included spirometry: simple spirometry is performed only when it's relevant to the current condition and feasible during the consultation, at the physician's discretion. Spirometry with bronchodilator carries an additional cost as it is not included in the consultation.
